Sports equipment manufacturer OBO has been able to test its safety gear like never before, thanks to a unique partnership with Nightside Test Design through Better By Design's DIF project scheme.
OBO, a member of Better by Design's Design Integration Programme, worked with Nightside Test Design to develop a testing and analysis electronics and software system that combines a cannon, motion sensors and a data capture system, reports the latest issue of Idealog magazine (Issue 19, Feb 09).
“Essentially what we’ve done is recreated an airbag test for a car in a laboratory environment for less money,” Idealog quotes Nightside managing director Peter Brown as saying. “What that’s done is lowered the cost of access for video analysis for smaller companies like OBO.”
